First Steps with Mery is a bilingual dayhome where Ms. Mery cares for and nurtures six children in a fun, playful, and enriching environment every day. Located at 711 51 Ave SW in Windsor Park, Calgary, Alberta, the dayhome offers a loving and safe atmosphere similar to that of a home. Ms. Mery welcomes children with a big smile, providing constant and affectionate care. The dayhome operates from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Ms. Mery is known for her patience, energy, empathy, responsibility, creativity, and flexibility in teaching. She holds a degree in Preschool Education, specializing in Early Stimulation, and has obtained several certifications, including Level 1 Childcare Educator, CPR, Alberta Food Safety Basics, Child Abuse Prevention, Brain Story, Build My Brain, Anaphylaxis in Schools, Primeras Conversaciones, and a current police check for the vulnerable sector.


Education
First Steps with Mery focuses on a curriculum centered around the Flight framework, emphasizing play and lifelong early learning and care. The program respects the interests and needs of children, incorporating playful activities designed to develop their cognitive, language, socio-emotional, and motor skills.

Nutrition
Children at First Steps with Mery receive excellent nutrition. We offer a balanced menu that incorporates natural foods in every meal and snack. The food is homemade, and we adapt it for any necessary dietary restrictions. Meals are varied daily, ensuring quality nutrition for every child. This includes breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack.
